Frequently Asked Questions
What
should I do before I contact you regarding Web Design?
Purchase
your domain name and
hosting
plan. When you have a website there are yearly fees for your domain
name and monthly fees for your hosting plan. Many times you can purchase
both of these with the same company. As with anything else, try to find
a company that offers more for less. For example, choose a company that
offers free e-mail accounts if you already know you want numerous e-mail
addresses on your site. Or, if you know that you are going to want
to add video and/or sound to your site, choose a package that offers a lot of
Megabytes/Gigabytes (space for your site to "live") so that you will
have room to expand freely. If you need me to do this step for you there
is an extra fee...
What
will happen once I contact you regarding Web Design?
When
you contact me, please provide your name, company name, contact numbers,
e-mail address, & any questions/comments you might have. Along with
a brief description of your website ideas. Please expect
an e-mailed response within 24-72 hours.
What
happens once I have all my questions answered and I'm ready to move forward?
You
will then receive a 'Victoria Regina Designs Your Web Checklist'. This
checklist must be completed before a contract is drawn up and any work
commences. You will be required to pay a 50%
deposit before work commences. This can be done by
including a check or money order with your completed checklist packet (made out to
Victoria Regina). The remaining 50% is due once the
site is complete (arrangements can be made, if you wish to split the last
payment into two payments before the site is complete). Publication
of the site, and
substantial changes, will occur
upon receipt of the
final
installment.
How
long will it take to have my website up?
Once you have given us all
of the necessary "paperwork" along with your deposit, a 2-3 week
turn around should be expected for the completion of your website.
What
happens once my website is set up? Can I change and/or add information?
YES! Once your completed
website has been published, any
future edits and additions will be billed at $50/hour. (This
cost will be pro-rated for every 1/2 hour.)
It is recommended that you compile your edits and changes and send them over
once a month. This way, you can keep your maintenance costs low.
Can
I add video and sound to my website?
YES! But it is
your responsibility to send video and sound clips that are formatted for the
web and ready to be added to your website. Use your yellow pages or
search the web for companies that can help you with this area.
Do
you offer discounts?
Yes! I offer discounts
and trades. Please contact me regarding your situation to see if we can
work something out.
How
do you keep your prices so low?
By having YOU do some of the
leg work, I am able to charge only for the physical labor of designing and
formatting the website, the maintenance and upkeep, and any special features
which include, but is not limited to, the Shopping Cart Feature.
I
already have a website I just need someone to maintain it...
Depending on the size of the site and
the amount of maintenance needed on a hourly, daily, weekly, monthly
basis we can work out an arrangement that fits your budget...
